California is looking to continue Andrew Yang’s initiative.
Of course, this will cost the state $1,000 per citizen –– and the state can’t print its own money. Now if only they had their own currency, they could have much more control of the monetary policy in that currency. And if the currency is sound, vendors would accept it.
The other nice stuff is that a programmable currency would support a lot of different applications.
Wow, I’d like a program like that in my country, too. But more likely the sky will fall to the earth than this to happen. One question is, can the US economy handle it?
